Picture it: Christmastime in downtown Pittsburgh at the quirky, contemporary Hotel Monaco. The flurry of holiday shoppers, families and friends spreading good cheer. It was the perfect backdrop for Kayla and Joe’s elopement. After years of friendship, this adorable couple tied the knot pop-up style in the hotel’s living room. Folks nearby picked up on the ceremony and clapped and cheered for the happy couple! It was one of the most special moments of the season.
The happy couple’s custom ceremony included a Buddhist prayer reading and one of our favorite poems by Laura Hendricks called “Love is Friendship Caught Fire.” The ceremony also began and ended with quotes from famed philosopher French philosopher Alain Badiou, “Love is a tenacious adventure… Real love is one that triumphs lastingly, sometimes painfully, over the hurdles erected by time, space and the world.”
We wish the best to the new Mr. and Mrs. as they begin their family.
